Available Financial Support for Small Businesses in QLD

Extraordinary Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants

1. South East Queensland Severe Storms and Rainfall (24 December 2023 – 3 January 2024)


If your small business was impacted by the storms over Christmas and New Year, you may be eligible for a recovery grant of up to $50,000. This grant could be crucial in helping your business bounce back.


Grant Details: 


  • For: Small businesses and non-profits affected by recent storms.
  • Amount: Up to $50,000, with initial grants of $10,000 and subsequent amounts up to $40,000.
  • Use: Cover costs such as clean-up, repairs, replacing stock, and more.
  • Applications close 9 July 2024.


Eligibility


Your business or organisation must be located in the City of Gold Coast, Scenic Rim Regional Council, or Logan City Council areas.


How to Apply: 


  1. Visit the  QRIDA website  for complete guidelines and eligibility criteria.
  2. Prepare the necessary documents, including evidence of damage and expenses.
  3. Use the latest version of Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop to submit your application.

2. Tropical Cyclone Jasper (13–28 December 2023)


If your small business was impacted by Tropical Cyclone Jasper, you may be eligible for a recovery grant of up to $50,000. This grant could be key in helping your business recover.


Grant Details:


  • For: Small businesses and non-profits affected by the cyclone.
  • Amount: Up to $50,000, with initial grants of $10,000 and subsequent amounts up to $40,000.
  • Use: Cover costs such as clean-up, repairs, replacing stock, and more.
  • Applications close 28 June 2024.


Eligibility:


Your business must be located in one of the following areas:


  • Cairns Regional Local Government Area
  • Cassowary Coast Regional Government Area
  • Cook Shire Local Government Area
  • Douglas Shire Local Government Area
  • Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Local Government Area
  • Mareeba Shire Local Government Area
  • Tablelands Regional Local Government Area
  • Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Local Government Area
  • Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Local Government Area

Available Financial Support for Small Businesses in NSW

1. $1,000 SafeWork Small Business Rebate


If you are a small business owner in NSW, this $1,000 rebate will help you purchase safety items to improve work health and safety for you and your workers.


Grant Details: 


  • Status: Ongoing
  • Grant amount: Up to $1,000
  • Application opened: 1 October 2018


Eligibility:


Small business owners who have an ABN and less than 50 full-time employees. 


How to Apply:



  1. Visit the  NSW Government website  for complete guidelines and eligibility criteria.
  2. Prepare the necessary documents, including evidence you completed an eligible SafeWork NSW education activity and purchased eligible safety item/s.
