  • Google has announced they will offer continuous scroll to mobile users instead of the ‘more results’ button in search results. The new update for Google search on mobile devices could encourage users to continue scrolling past results on the first page.
  • To celebrate five years since its launch, Facebook Marketplace will be adding more features to their buy and sell experience. New Facebook Marketplace features include notifications for new listings matching previous searches, shipping options, trending searches and more.
  • TikTok has recently partnered with six certified Sound Partners to improve the platform’s sound strategies and provide a better development tool for content creation.

  • Google has updated their review structure data requirements, including changes in the author’s name, attributes and more. Google’s new review structured data could help websites gain review-rich results and star ratings in search engine results.
  • Facebook is testing cross-posting feed posts to Instagram. If the cross-posting feature is released, users who use both Facebook and Instagram could post on each platform more efficiently while providing more content for users’ Instagram feed.
  • Microsoft Clarity has integrated features to help advertisers analyse post-click user behaviour and engagement on landing pages. The analysis could help better understand conversion paths or identify potential consumer roadblocks.

  • Instagram has added new information under Insights to help businesses optimise their content based on who is engaging with their account. The new insights include info on top cities, countries, age and gender range of those interacting with content.
  • YouTube will be launching their first week-long live stream shopping experience on November 15. If successful, the live-streaming event could be a new interactive eCommerce experience for YouTube users to shop, access exclusive offers and engage with creators and other viewers.
  • Instagram has announced the launch of a new feature called ‘Collabs‘, allowing two accounts to co-author a post or Reel while sharing the same comment thread.

  • Facebook has stated they will be renaming their company to reflect its focus on building the metaverse. Mark Zuckerberg plans to talk more about its rebranding and direction at their annual Connect conference on October 28th.
  • Microsoft Windows 11 has started testing 50 Android apps through its partnership with Amazon and its app store. They are enabling additional Android apps for Windows 11 and Amazon account users.
  • Facebook is retaliating against policy violations across its platform by demoting users’ Group content. The new “Flagged by Facebook” feature for Group Administration content is flagged for removal. The September Facebook policy update hopes to limit rule breakers and any harmful content.
