Google is tightening control over its search data, making it clear that businesses must stay within its ecosystem to remain visible . For small businesses, this means one thing — being ‘Google Ready’ is now more critical than ever . Recently, Google made a bold move by restricting search scraping tools that don’t enable JavaScript. This shook up the SEO industry, but more importantly, it revealed a bigger strategy — Google is locking down its data to stay ahead in the AI race. Think of it like a restaurant with a secret recipe: Google isn’t going to let competitors walk into the kitchen and take notes. Instead, it’s making sure its ingredients — search data, Google Maps insights, and business profiles — stay exclusive to its own AI models . For local businesses, this reinforces the need to stay active within Google’s ecosystem and build a presence across Google-trusted platforms to remain visible. This ensures your business continues attracting leads. If Google is the main road customers use to find businesses, you need to make sure you’re on the map.

Who are Solarmaster?

Solarmaster, a family-owned window tinting business based in Brisbane, has been helping both residential and commercial clients for nearly 18 years. led by Neil and Vicky the business has grown from a small operation with just a few contractors to a thriving company with a team of 14, including seven full-time installers. While their reputation for reliability and quality work had solidified them as one of the top window tinting companies in Brisbane, the transition to the digital space was challenging.

Initially, Solarmaster’s online presence was limited and struggled to capture the attention of potential customers. With competition rising, Vicky knew that maintaining visibility was key. “We were still relying heavily on word of mouth,” Vicky shared. “It worked for a while, but to keep growing, we needed to be online, front and centre.”

Challenge: Navigating the Digital Landscape

Solarmaster’s first website served them well, but needed a refresh, as all good websites do. “It had become too generic,” Vicky explains. “It didn’t highlight what made us unique or give us the online traction we needed anymore.”

The turning point came when Vicky connected Local Marketing Specialist from Localsearch. “We were running on a bit of a hope theory back then,” she says. “Sometimes the phone didn’t ring, and it got stressful. But once we started working with Localsearch, everything changed.”

Solution: A Tailored Digital Strategy

Partnering with Localsearch, Vicky worked closely with Steve, her Local Marketing Specialist, to transform Solarmaster’s online presence. A new website was built specifically to reflect Solarmaster’s strengths and service areas, showcasing their professional window tinting services for residential and commercial clients across Brisbane.

The Localsearch team provided:

  • Website Redesign: A customised website that highlighted Solarmaster’s range of services, making it easy for potential clients to navigate and request quotes.
  • SEO Optimisation: The new site was designed with SEO in mind, driving Solarmaster to the top of relevant local search results.
  • Ongoing Support: With regular updates, blog content, and a clear strategy for improving rankings, Vicky could rest easy knowing their online presence was in capable hands.

Vicky praises Steve and the Localsearch team for their expertise; “If it wasn’t for Localsearch, we wouldn’t have any idea what we were doing. We trust them because this is what they do best.”

The Results: An Unstoppable Growth Story

Thanks to the personalised strategy and ongoing support from Localsearch, Solarmaster has seen remarkable growth. “We doubled our income during the Global Financial Crisis because we worked hard and trusted in the plan. Now, we’re busier than ever,” Vicky says proudly.

With strong SEO, targeted Google Ads, and a continually refreshed website, Solarmaster remains one of Brisbane’s top window tinting providers. The business continues to capture new clients, outshining local competitors. “If our phones go quiet, I just send a quick email to Steve, and the next thing we know, the phones are ringing again,” says Vicky.

Today, Solarmaster runs three brands under one company, with Localsearch supporting their digital marketing across all of them. “Digital marketing is everything now. If you don’t have it, you don’t have a business,” Vicky emphasises.
