Google is tightening control over its search data, making it clear that businesses must stay within its ecosystem to remain visible . For small businesses, this means one thing — being ‘Google Ready’ is now more critical than ever . Recently, Google made a bold move by restricting search scraping tools that don’t enable JavaScript. This shook up the SEO industry, but more importantly, it revealed a bigger strategy — Google is locking down its data to stay ahead in the AI race. Think of it like a restaurant with a secret recipe: Google isn’t going to let competitors walk into the kitchen and take notes. Instead, it’s making sure its ingredients — search data, Google Maps insights, and business profiles — stay exclusive to its own AI models . For local businesses, this reinforces the need to stay active within Google’s ecosystem and build a presence across Google-trusted platforms to remain visible. This ensures your business continues attracting leads. If Google is the main road customers use to find businesses, you need to make sure you’re on the map.

Background: Who is PT Trade Supplies

Founded in 2003 in a garage on the Mid North Coast, PT Trade Supplies quickly became known for reliability in trade goods, particularly as an affordable gas supplier. However, to reach more customers, they needed to explore new avenues. With dedicated support from the Localsearch team, their online presence has since soared, achieving 3,709 page views on the Localsearch website. Today, they operate with a team of 16 and a bustling shop front.

The Challenge: Overcoming Online Invisibility
PT Trade Supplies wanted to connect with its target audience in the digital space. Owner Peter aimed to get the business on the first page of Google. In 2019, they teamed up with Localsearch to increase their online presence and sharpen their marketing strategies. This partnership marked the beginning of a new chapter for PT Trade Supplies.
Strategy: Enhancing PT Trade Supplies’ Digital Presence

PT Trade Supplies recognised the importance of expanding its online presence and partnered with Localsearch to drive business growth. Encouraged by their initial success with Localsearch online, they collaborated with Kailah, a local business marketing specialist based in the Mid North Coast, to devise a strategic plan. Together, they implemented the following steps:

  • Website Development: Kailah, working with Localsearch, helped Peter create a user-friendly website to effectively showcase PT Trade Supplies’ products and services, aiming to enhance customer interaction and satisfaction.

  • Online Visibility: PT Trade Supplies and Localsearch worked together to create an optimisation plan for their Google Business Profile and website, aiming for prominent placement in search engine results to attract customers actively seeking their offerings.

  • Monitoring and Adjustments: PT Trade Supplies regularly monitored key metrics to assess the effectiveness of their digital strategies. This ongoing evaluation allowed them to make necessary adjustments to improve their online presence continuously.
The Results

Since teaming up with Localsearch, PT Trade Supplies has achieved significant growth, now ranking number one on Google. Leveraging Localsearch’s expertise, they expanded their market reach and optimised operations for sustainable growth.

  • Business Expansion: PT Trade Supplies started with a team of four and now has 16 staff members, showing significant growth in operations and customer service.

  • Logistical Growth: They expanded their fleet to include two semi-trailers and a rigid truck, improving interstate transport across Taree, Forster, Gloucester, Port Macquarie, and Kempsey. This expansion increased their service area and logistical capabilities.

  • Digital Impact: Localsearch’s local marketing strategies boosted PT Trade Supplies to the top of local search results. This increased visibility led to more sales and inquiries, making them a leading trade supplier in the Mid North Coast region.

Their journey from a garage startup to a key player in the trade supply industry highlights the importance of adapting to digital trends and investing in targeted marketing efforts tailored to specific business needs.
