Blog / Media / Localsearch Running Team Take on 420km To Raise Money for Mental Health
The Localsearch Running Team are always up for a challenge. So, when the chance arose to run to raise funds for mental health non-profit LIVIN, they jumped at the opportunity.
More than 40 Localsearch team members signed up to run in the Gold Coast Running Festival on the 24 April 2022, running various distances from 5km to 21km. Incredibly our team committed to running a combined total distance of over 420km— that’s the same distance as Northern Brisbane to Coffs Harbour — winning the Rebel Groups Challenge for most kilometres run.
Their feats saw them raise more than $5,000 for LIVIN and we’re proud to say every cent of those donations will go directly to LIVIN and support their mission.
LIVIN is an Australian non-profit mental health organisation, founded in 2013 in memory of Dwayne Lally, a young man who took his own life after living in silence with mental illness.
The foundation aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental health, encouraging people to speak up about mental health.
There is no doubt promoting a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally is directly linked with employee productivity.
Fostering an environment where we support our team in their health and wellbeing has never been more important. If we can continue to create a safe space for discussions about mental health we can all look forward to a brighter future.
