World Wildlife Day: Friday, 3 March 2023

World Wildlife Day was proclaimed as 3 March by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. We rely on wildlife and biodiversity-based resources to meet literally ALL our needs, from food, to fuel, clothing, medicines and housing.

So many industries have been impacted by supply issues over the last few years – the construction and technology in particular. Take advantage of this opportunity by tying in your business’s approach to sustainability and doing your part for our environment.

Ways to recognise World Wildlife Day on social media:

  • Share facts about World Wildlife Day using the hashtags for this year’s celebration including, #WWD2023, #PartnershipsforConservation, #WorldWildlifeDay and #WWD.
  • If you work in the education sector, get your students to choose an endangered animal or plant to draw or paint, then share the artwork on social media. You could also run a competition for kids who visit your shop, office or practice.
  • Recognise any critically endangered species in your state to spread awareness amongst followers in your area.

World Employee Appreciation Day: Saturday, 4 March 2023

International Women’s Day: Wednesday, 8 March 2023

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women past, present and future. The campaign theme for International Women’s Day this year is “Embrace Equity.”

  • Create a post acknowledging the women in your workplace and their achievements.
  • Share how you ensure your business is a fair and equal workplace on your socials.

World’s Greatest Shave: Wednesday, 15 – Sunday, 19 March 2023

World’s Greatest Shave, held from 15–19 March is all about sending a powerful message of hope to the 135,000 Aussie families currently facing blood cancer. You can shave, cut or colour your hair to participate in the sponsored event and the funds you raise will provide precious relief to those who need it most.

Ways to recognise World’s Greatest Shave on social media:

  • There are so many ways you could share your involvement in the event on your socials. If you have any brave employees or students, register an individual, team or workplace to join in and share your experience.

World Poetry Day: Tuesday, 21 March 2023 

World Poetry Day is held every year on 21 March, celebrating a linguistic expression people from all cultures can identify with. The day was first introduced with the aim of promoting the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry around the world.

  • Choose a theme and have a poetry competition in your workplace, sharing the finalists and winner on your socials.

World Water Day: Wednesday, 22 March 2023

World Water Day celebrates all water has to offer and raises awareness of the two billion people living without access to safe water. This year is all about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis. Billions of people and countless schools, businesses, healthcare centres, farms and factories don’t have the safe water and toilets they need.

Ways to recognise World Water Day on social media:

  • Raise awareness by sharing facts about the water and sanitation crisis.
  • Share an action list for your followers to start taking steps in the right direction. For example, save water, eat local, flush safe, stop polluting, protect nature and clean up.

Earth Hour: Saturday, 25 March 2023
