Father’s Day: Sunday, 3 September 2023

On the first Sunday of September, Father’s Day is celebrated in Australia.

This day is all about showing love and appreciation for fathers and father figures. It is a significant event across all sectors, with education, retail and the food industry taking particular interest in the day.  

Ways to recognise Father’s Day on social media:

  • Share photos of the fathers in your team along with their favourite dad joke.
  • If you work in the education sector, create a reel of your students handcrafting gifts and cards for their fathers.

National Women’s Health Week: Monday, 4 – Friday, 8 September 2023

National Women’s Health Week is held annually in September as a reminder for women to set aside time for their health and well-being. The week focuses on improving women’s health and helping women make healthier choices through a nationwide campaign and online activities.

Ways to recognise National Women’s Health Week on social media:

  • Share ways women get involved in National Women’s Health Week on social media. For example, remind your followers to book a health check-up or share the location of a nearby women’s exercise group they can join.
  • Focus on a different aspect of women’s health each day of the week (e.g., healthy eating, staying active, mental health) sharing useful tips and tricks your followers can take on board.

R U OK Day: Thursday, 14 September 2023

R U OK Day is dedicated to reminding Australian’s to regularly check in with friends, family and colleagues.  

The day prompts asking the question, “Are you okay?”, which starts meaningful conversations with the people around us.

  • Share a post from the R U OK? charity’s official Instagram or Facebook account.
  • Host a workplace event to raise funds, sharing photos or videos on your social platforms.

Talk Like a Pirate Day: Tuesday, 19 September 2023

Talk Like a Pirate Day is nationally recognised as the major fundraiser for Childhood Cancer Support. It is all about dressing up and having fun, whilst making a difference for families impacted by childhood cancers.  

This day is a great opportunity for schools, childcare centres, community groups and workplaces to support these Australians by participating in the fundraising event. World Alzheimer’s Day: Thursday, 21 September 2023
