Daniel Stoten Localsearch Executive

Daniel Stoten

Executive Chairman

“The hard work by the Localsearch family is a testament to our passion for regional Aussie businesses and a direct reflection of the character and culture that has shaped and built our business to everything it is today.”

Daniel Stoten is a key pioneer of affordable, localised search advertising in regional Australia.

Born in the UK, but raised in Australia, Daniel spent his secondary and tertiary years on the Gold Coast. He found himself in leadership positions from an early age, both on sporting fields (rugby and cricket captain) and in academia as school captain and law school ambassador.

His entrepreneurial aspirations weren’t being satisfied as a solicitor in a big-end-of-town law firm in Brisbane. He soon saw himself start and run a successful telecommunication business individually, before teaming up with his two present business partners at the age of 23 to revolutionise localised phone book advertising in regional Australia.

Daniel’s leadership and business acumen soon saw him naturally take on the Managing Director role — which he remained in for many years — at the helm of what today is known as Localsearch, guiding its transformation to a digital marketing leader.

His guidance has allowed Localsearch to expand to include more than 250 team members, facilitating growth to more than 300,000 regional businesses in Australia.

Today, as Executive Chairman of the Board, Daniel takes great pride in being a mentor to those carrying on his vision, always impressed with those who are willing to break the mold in their journey to success.
